I love a good Make-Over!
Seeing the potential in a doubtful situation,
and polishing it until it shines!
The magic in transformation captivates me every time.

Growing up with the challenge of being the tallest in my class all through school, and feeling like I had the biggest feet in the world! (We’ve all got the ‘worst thing ever’ haven’t we?) I take a UK size 10 shoe – so they are pretty big – and spent my teenage years feeling like I didn’t ‘fit in’ and trying to hide whenever I could.
A proper ugly duckling story!

My first sense of ‘fashion freedom’ came from discovering ‘my colours’ – such a simple easy lift, when you know what you’re doing!  I’ve always enjoyed colour, but too much, too greedy with it, so a simple co-ordinated palette was a relief.
(I’m Cool & Clear, in case you’re wondering.)

Then came my ‘style guidelines’ – making the most of what I’ve been blessed with!! Again, simplification and focus – and a bit of visual trickery.
(I’m a Triangle/Pear with a short waist, grand scale, and a ‘Natural’ style personality.)

But just because you look good in something, doesn’t mean you always feel good in it!  Then came Fashion Feng Shui – the answer to feeling ‘right’ in your clothes! This was my most exciting revelation- to discover a way to show the world who you really are – dress your essence
(my elemental essence is water, with a bit of metal.)

Three amazing things I’ve done:

1.   I practised Aromatherapy for 10 years – and loved every . single . day .
The knowledge of essential oils, combined with listening and intuition – creating personalised blends to soothe and fortify.  Alongside the tender touch of massage and sharing deep body wisdom. Heaven.
I no longer give aromatherapy treatments, but I find the essential oils as supportive as ever.

2.   It's taken over a decade, but I have created a garden I love.
Gardening feels like a philosophy to me – a great metaphor for life – patience, attention, perseverance.  I’ve learned from mistakes, following nature’s lead and seeing what wants to grow where. You can’t boss Mother Nature around, better to go with the flow!

Reading about, and visiting favourite places for inspiration – keeping a tiny flame of creativity alive while the rest of life took over.  Glorious to see the vision finally taking shape!
Favourite flower: old fashioned English roses – especially for the scent
Favourite garden: Rosemary Verey’s Barnsley House (before it became a boutique hotel).

3. I gave birth to two babies at the same time (a.k.a. having twins – I’m still getting over it!) Twin boys, although I should stop calling them that now they’re in their 20’s – and yes, it is as hard as you think!
I feel fully qualified to referee a high level football match – with all the terms and tactics I’ve absorbed over the years, and the ninja skills in mediation/fair play I’ve developed,
supervising testosterone fuelled shenanigans (mothers of boys united!!).

Three random things about me:

1. My motto is ‘Always be kind’

2. I could give up wine. I could give up chocolate (if you tied my hands behind my back! maybe!) But coffee – please don’t take my coffee away.

3. I might be a little bit Pinterest mad!  Can you tell?

My favourite quote:
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
